I hope everyone enjoyed their event free weekend. The next couple of weeks are jammed with events and rehearsals as we approach the end of the marching band season. Here we go!

Rehearsal Schedule this week Monday - afternoon Tuesday - morning Wednesday - afternoon Thursday - morning and afternoon Friday - no school BUT football game - band rehearsal starts at 4:00pm Volunteer! On October 30, we do have 2 competitions in one day (details below), so please see how you can help. Coming up (including some non-marching band things coming!) Just a reminder of the upcoming events on the calendar. October 29 – Home Football vs Louisa (SENIOR NIGHT!) October 30 – Competition Double Header – Monticello (State Assessment) and Powhattan November 6 - VMBC Championship (Lynchburg) November 11 Jazz Band Veterans Day Performance November 17-19 – All State Jazz Event (selected Students) – Norfolk, VA November 19 –Jazz Performance at Virginia Music Education Conference – Norfolk, VA As always, the calendar can be found on the website at https://www.albemarleband.org/calendar.html#/ October 30 competitions We have 2 competitions on October 30. The first is at Monticello, where we are scheduled to perform at 2:15pm. Immediately after getting off the field, we are back on the bus and to AHS. We will have a short break there, where the students can eat. Students should plan to bring food along with them to eat before boarding the buses for Powhattan. We will leave fairly quickly after that to get to Powhattan for our second performance, which is scheduled for 7:45. Trucks will stay loaded from Monticello and head directly to Powhattan. Here is the schedule for the day: 9:00am – Rehearsal on Turf 10:45am– Eat/Pack/Load 11:45am – Depart for MHS - 1400 Independence Ave, Charlottesville 12:15pm – Arrive at MHS/Unpack 12:55pm – Warm Up Time 1:55pm – Travel 2:05pm – Gate 2:15pm- The Better to Hear You With 2:30pm – Return to Truck and Pack Up 2:50pm – Depart for AHS 3:15pm – Arrive at AHS and Eat (Pack Dinner) 4:30pm – Depart for Powhatan HS - 1800 Judes Ferry Rd, Powhattan, VA 23139 5:45pm – Arrive at PHS and Unpack 6:45pm – Warm Up Time 7:20pm – Travel 7:40pm – Gate 7:45pm – The Better to Hear You With 8:00pm – Return to Trucks/Pack Up 8:30pm – Return to Stadium 9:15pm – Awards Ceremony 9:30pm- Back to Bus/Bathrooms and Leave 11:00pm – Arrive at AHS and Unload 11:15pm – Dismissal End of Marching Band season - The Marching Band Olympics There is one more marching band "after school rehearsal" scheduled for Monday, November 8, 4pm. This is the traditional marching band olympics, where the students get to enjoy some games and get together one more time. Football Playoffs? If the football team makes the playoffs and hosts a home football game, the marching band will attend the game and play pep band music. They will not perform the field show at that game.
